Although known primarily for her genre writing, Amy Berg spent her first three years in town working in comedy. At age 22 she sold her first script to Nickelodeon and scored a meeting with Joss Whedon, based on a one-act play she wrote featuring the Buffy writers as characters. This opportunity led to a regular writing gig for Nickelodeon, where she wrote for a number of their popular live-action programs before segueing into one-hour dramas. She landed in the genre world based on a Lost spec she wrote during that show’s first season. Writing gigs on Threshold and The 4400 followed. It was duringThe 4400 that she began writing her first pilot, which garnered several offers. She chose to join the TNT heist dramaLeverage, where she served as a writer and supervising producer for the show’s first two seasons. She left Leverage for an opportunity on the hit Syfy channel series, Eureka, where she now also serves as an executive producer.

Needs more bio info. And evidence that Berg is awesome! (Not that we need proof, but it helps convert the non-believers…)

You know that friend who always knows the right thing to say? That’s what Amy Berg does for the characters she writes. Every bit as funny as she is smart. I miss watching her talent on Leverage.
